Staff at Sefton Sexual Health Services celebrated the official opening of their St Hugh’s building clinic in Bootle.

Deputy Chief Executive Therese Patten and Wendy Hicks, matron for the service, were joined by Cllr Ian Moncur, Sefton council’s cabinet member for health and well-being, who marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting. They were joined by dozens of staff and stakeholders.

The Trust opened the clinic earlier this year following a £260,000 investment.

Therese said: “We’re proud to be investing in a quality environment for this essential community service, providing care and health education to local people. I also want to thank everyone who has worked so hard over the past couple of years to make a success of this project.”

Sefton Sexual Health is funded by Sefton’s public health team. The clinic incorporates services previously available at the nearby May Logan Centre and the PACE service for under 19 year-olds at Bootle Health Centre.

Sefton Sexual Health also operates clinics at Southport Centre for Health and Well-being, Maghull Health Centre and Netherton Health Centre.
