What do volunteers do?
We have lots of different roles. Volunteers can do lots of difference things such as supporting patients at mealtimes, keeping patients company, doing arts and crafts, welcoming patients when they arrive at hospital or finding out what patients and visitors think about their experience at the hospitals.
Where can I volunteer?
We have roles available across the Trust at both Southport and Ormskirk hospitals, at the North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre, at our hospital radio station Radio Heartbeat and with the RVS is their hospital shops.
Do I need to have experience?
You do not need any experience of being in a hospital environment. All we ask is that you are over 16 years of age are caring, friendly, approachable and reliable. We offer full training and support to help you in your role.
How do I become a volunteer?
Decide what spare time you have and how much time you can commit each week. For most of our volunteer roles we ask for a minimum of 4 hours a week for at least six months. You can volunteer more than that if you want to!
