Congratulations to the award winning senior doctors at Southport and Ormskirk hospitals who recently swept the boards at a virtual awards event hosted by Health Education England.

The SAS 2020 Awards recognise work undertaken up to 24 February 2020. Nominations were accepted from any clinical or non-clinical staff working with the individual they are nominating. More than 100 nominations were received from 17 NHS trusts across the North West of England.

Trust Medical Director Terry Hankin was delighted: “This is a great result for our SAS doctors who are the backbone of medical workforce.

“The judges’ comments were exceptionally positive and I hope each of those commended feels rightly proud of the achievement.

“I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to each of them, well done and thank you for everything you do.”
