Southport and Ormskirk hospitals chief nurse is appealing for retired nurses and allied health professionals to return to work and help in the fight against Covid-19.
Bridget Lees, Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Therapies at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust, said many retired colleagues has already shown an interest in going back to practice since she returned to the Trust in February.
She said: “Talking to many of you, you’re interested in returning because nursing is a profession which we are, not something we simply do.
“The Trust is offering an extensive programme of retraining to help ease retired colleagues back into the workforce.
“Your support and knowledge is need more than ever as we keep local people safe from the coronavirus.”
