2020 has been an extraordinarily demanding year for your local NHS staff coping with the demands of Covid-19.

Do you know a member of staff working at our hospitals or in one of our services who deserves special recognition?

Patients and their families are being invited to nominate a member of staff or team from Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust as this year’s People’s Health Hero in the organisation’s 12th annual Time to Shine staff awards.

Chief Executive Trish-Armstrong-Childs said: “Everyone has worked tirelessly in very challenging circumstances this year and I know our community will want to thank them all. But also I know there will be patients who remember the care, kindness or professionalism of a particular member of staff. This is your opportunity to recognise them.”

Nominations for the People’s Health Hero Award are open until midnight on Sunday 11th October. Any member of staff or team, in any role, is eligible for a nomination providing they have worked Southport hospital, Ormskirk hospital or other services the Trust provides over the past 12 months.

Nominations should be made here or in writing to the Chief Executive at: Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust, Town Lane, Kew, Southport, PR8 6PN.

The People’s Health Hero Award will be presented in November along with other awards selected from nominations made by Trust staff.
