About the service
The community paediatric dietitians team provides up-to-date guidance and information about childhood nutritional problems to parents, carers, children and anybody who may be involved with a child’s care. This information can be delivered in various formats such as face-to-face appointments, video calls, telephone calls and group sessions.
The aim of the service is to provide children and families with the information required to meet their nutritional needs when the children are on a special diet. We will provide ongoing support and monitoring as required.
We are an outpatient service who work together within an multidisciplinary team (Doctors, Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists etc.) to provide a holistic care plan.
Our service provides support for the following:
- Nutrition Support
- Faltering Growth
- Weight Management
- Enteral feeding- Gastrostomy and Jejunostomy feeding
- Allergies (for Ig-E mediated allergies please refer to allergy clinic)
- Coeliac Disease
- Chronic Constipation
- Confirmed Nutritional Deficiencies
- Community Paediatric Dietitians
We will accept referrals for children aged between 0-18 years old.
