Charter Mark

The Trust is a member of a number of charter marks and quality badges as part of its work to impellent our equality, diversity and inclusion strategy. The current charters are listed below.

Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation to ensure that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, the Trust is making a public pledge that no member of the armed forces community will face disadvantage.

Defence Employers Recognition Scheme

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant. The Trust is accredited with Gold status.

Disability Confident Employer Scheme

Disability Confident is a scheme that is designed to help recruit and retain disabled people and people with health conditions for their skills and talent. As a Trust we are committed to increasing employment opportunities for disabled people and encouraging all people with a disability to apply for a job with us. The Trust is accredited as a Disability Confident Level 3 – Leader.

Dying to Work Charter

The TUC Dying to Work charter is a commitment to support employees who are end of life.

Sexual Safety Charter

The NHS Sexual Safety Charter is a commitment to actively eradicate sexual harassment and abuse from the workplace, ensure there are appropriate policies, support and training available, and any and all reports will be dealt with seriously and timely.

Rainbow Badge

The NHS Rainbow Badge is an assessment of how inclusive and supportive the Trust is for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trans+ employees and patients. The Trust is accredited with Bronze status.

Veterans Aware

The Trust is accredited as being “Veterans Aware”, which is a commitment to recognising and supporting the needs of the Armed Forces Community, primarily when assessing healthcare but also in employment.
