Charter Mark

All staff are provided with Equality and Diversity Training which covers the nine protected characteristic in the Equality Act 2010.

It is important that staff are able to understand the diverse needs of different cultures and customs and the Trust intranet also provides information on more than 40 faiths.

Navajo chartermark

The Trust’s inclusive approach towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people is recognised in the award of the Navajo chartermark.

The Navajo movement started in Lancashire in 1999. As well as tackling inequality and prejudice, it recognises that social well-being and acceptance in society of lesbian, gay and bisexual people has a positive impact on their health. More recently the scheme has been extended to include transgender people too.

The charter mark assessment takes into account an organisation’s practices and policies, how it trains and recruits, and how it engages with staff.

The Trust is one of the 25 organisations in Merseyside and Cheshire to be awarded it.

Disability Confident Employer Scheme

The Disability Confident Scheme is an initiative which shows employers how to commit to recruiting, retaining and developing disabled people.

Through Disability Confident, the Government aims to work with employers in the UK to: challenge attitudes towards disability; increase understanding of disability.

The Trust signed up to the Scheme in 2017.
